The Anchor Field GP surgery in Ringmer was officially opened by the practice’s most senior patient, Bessie Smith, aged 102. The new surgery, costing around £1 million, opened to patients on 30 June and features five consulting rooms, a treatment room and first floor rooms for staff, including a much needed conference/training room that is shared with River Lodge Surgery in Lewes. Also on hand for the opening were John Sinden (Westridge Construction), Maurice Brocklesby (Carisbrooke Medical Centres Ltd), Dr Laith Butti and David Jenkins.
Work is now underway to convert the existing surgery on the opposite side of the car park into a new pharmacy that would help to provide a one stop shop type approach to the medical services in Ringmer.
